You’ve got problems, and math is one of them!

Let me guess, math just isn’t your thing. As a kid, you didn’t describe yourself as a math person, and you let that impact your life path. But, now you’re a third, fourth, or fifth grade teacher and you have to teach math, it’s kinda part of your job. You want to understand math better as a teacher so you can help your students be successful and find the JOY of math that you were lacking.

Well, you’re in the right place, so grab a cocktail and let’s get started!

I bet you’re here because you…

Want your students to find a lifelong joy of math that comes from deep conceptual understanding

Have tried using keyword strategies to teach word problems, but it isn’t working

You aren’t exactly sure where or how to start, but you know you need to

And most importantly you are trying to do it all without using MATH TRICKS

I’m Jenn, and I create word problem resources for upper elementary teachers that improve student confidence and accuracy, while also developing their conceptual math understanding

.

That teacher I described at the beginning,  that was me. When I became a teacher in 2011, I was NOT excited about teaching math. Why? Because I had struggled as a student in school.

I carried this failing sense of math identity with me into college. I let it determine my life path, and while that ultimately led me to teaching, it kept me from pursuing degrees in the STEM fields.

I don’t want that for my children, students, or for the students in your classroom either. That’s why I made math my passion. I wanted to grow my own math understanding and build a math tribe of teachers committed to improved math instruction in our public schools.

With a Master’s degree in teacher leadership, I created my math resource business and website to support the education of both teachers and upper elementary students.

How many times have parents asked you how they can help their child at home with math? Maybe you have had parents that don’t understand the conceptual strategies (or their benefit) to developing a strong math identity in children.

A classroom website is the perfect solution. It allows you the space to support at home learning, as well as gives parents the skills they need. How? By adding math videos that communicate the how and the why of math strategies being taught in your classroom. A classroom website provides you that space.

Not sure how to build a class website? I can show you how using Google Sites. Find out more by clicking the button below.
